Math Attitudes
– Do you like math? – Do you think you’re good at math? – How do you see yourself as a mathematician?
Does someone help you at home when you have a question? Who helps you with your math homework?
– Do parents offer help? In math? *mom *dad *sibling *other *no one – Does someone other than your teacher show you another way to do your math work? Do they do the homework different than your teacher? *yes *no Does someone outside of school show you different stategies to solve math problems? – Is there a way for you to check your answers at home? How do you know if your answers are right? ___ – Does an adult check your math work before you turn it in? Does your teacher or parent check your work before you turn it in? – At what age does the parental help stop? This question should be able to be answered if we have student grade at the top of the survey and they answer the first one about who helps with homework.
How does technology affect your mathematics performance? Do you play math games on the computer? Do they help you get better at math?
– Is there adequate technology in your home to support your math learning? Do you have a computer at home? Are you allowed to use it? Do you use a computer, Ipad, or Ipod to practice math?
